Naaja approaching

Description

The little princess of the park, Naaja. Last year the popular wolf keeper Tanja Askani brought her here from Canada. She is also hand-raised and very lovely.

I can't tell you, what she really is. The park is so confusing and obviously clueless about their wolf subspecies ... it's stated that she's a polar wolf (canis lupus arctos), like her pack mates. Just a pure one, compared to Noran and Nanuk. BUT infront of the enclosure is now a new big sign giving information about a wolf subspecies called Hudson Bay Wolf (canis lupus hudsonicus) - which aren't polar wolves. They are sometimes called tundra wolves, but tundra wolves are also a completely different subspecies. Amusingly, attached to the enclosure is still the older sign that says these wolves being Tundra Wolves (canis lupus tundrarum) - the subspecies that is not a Hudson Bay Wolf.
