May I introduce to you - this is Ole's (still nameless) little daughter. She looks a lot like her dad, even though her facial markings are a bit darker and as well are her eyes.
Yep, her left eye really is much darker then her right eye. It's not because of the light. This is some phenomenon I have very, VERY rarely seen with wolves, though strangely the occurence somehow increased within 2012 and 2013. At least it feels to me like it. I guess I've noticed at least 5 pups born in 2012 or 2013 that have bicoloured eyes. And the mother of two of this pups (Dharma from the famous wolfpark
also suddenly has one darker eye now, as if it just had decided that it would like to produce more melanin.
Somehow it's really strange.
This little girl has two black brothers. Actually she also had a brown brother, but unfortunately he died a few days ago.
He had a fatal kidney disease. And when I visited ZOOM Gelsenkirchen last sunday I learnt that their black pup
had died too. The last 12 months or so had been a bit frustrating when it comes to wolf deaths. There were way too many. ._.
I'll be off until sunday, so I won't be able to answer comments and notes during that time.
